Fresno County Federal Credit Union recognizes and respects the privacy of its members, and is committed to protecting the confidentiality of both financial and personal information.

Information We Collect - What and Why?

We collect nonpublic information about you from some or all of the following sources:

Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number,
  • assets, and income
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions and credit card usage
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history

Our employees access information about you when needed to maintain your accounts, consider a request from you for additional products and services, or otherwise meet your needs. We may also access and use information about you to exercise our rights under law or agreement with you.

Information We Disclose

We do not disclose any nonpublic information about our members and former members to affiliates or non-affiliated third parties except as permitted by law without your written authorization.

We limit who receives information and what type of information is shared. To assist us with the processing of transactions, we may share information with companies who work for us, such as, but not limited to, check printers, data processors, mortgage servicers, and statement mailers. These companies act on our behalf and are obligated to keep the information that we provide to them confidential.

Information may be exchanged with credit bureaus and similar organizations. In addition, it will be provided when legally required or permitted, or in connection with a fraud or other legal investigation. If we receive a subpoena or legal process demanding release of any information about you, we will generally attempt to notify you, if we are permitted to do so. Except as required, we do not share information with other parties, including government agencies.

Fresno County Federal Credit Union does not sell member lists. We may, from time to time, offer third party marketer products and services when believed to enhance our member's well being, however we will control the member information used to make these offers.

Our Security Measures

We restrict access to nonpublic information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with Federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Protection of Information

Whether you are a member of the credit union, or just visiting us online, we safeguard the information you provide to us at www.fresnocfcu.org. In general, you can visit us on the World Wide Web without disclosing who you are or revealing any information about yourself. There are several areas, however, that will collect certain information about you, and we want you to know how we handle that information.

Visiting the Website

When you visit our website, FCFCU collects and stores information on the domain you use to access our website, the Internet address of the site from which you linked directly to the site, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to measure the number of visitors to the various pages on our site to better serve our membership, specifically in improved design and site navigation.

Online Banking Protection

When you bank online with us, you must provide Personal Identification (i.e. account number, password). This information is collected by the credit union and the companies we work with to bring these services to you. This information enables us to regulate access of this information only to those who request access and to those who are entitled to perform transactions on these accounts.

The credit union uses state-of-the-art technology; supported by the outside companies with whom we work, to make online banking secure and to protect your personal information. This technology, Secure Socket Layer (SSL), encrypts, or scrambles, your account information making it virtually impossible for anyone other than the credit union to read.

Online Applications/Forms

FCFCU provides several online forms (i.e. applications, check orders) to better serve the needs of our members. Personal information provided by the member via any of the online forms, is sent to us on secure lines, and is used solely to process the member's request for service.

Handling of E-mail

If you send an e-mail through our website, we collect and store personal information submitted by you to respond to inquiries for service or information. This Website e-mail as well as e-mail sent to credit union employee addresses via the credit union Internet address is not secure, and should be used only for information or inquiries of a non-sensitive and non-confidential nature. Likewise, since an Internet e-mail response back to you is not secure, we will not include confidential account information in an e-mail response.

Planning Tools Usage

There are several planning tools and calculators throughout the site to help you make financial decisions that are right for you. We encourage you to try all the "what-if" scenarios as often as you like. When you use these planning tools, they will run on your PC or server. We do not capture the personal information you provide on these planning tools.

Linked Site Visits

If you link to another site from any of our pages, we cannot be held responsible for any information that may be gathered at a linked site. We make every effort however, to ensure that all linked sites follow similar privacy policies as ours to offer you maximum security and privacy.

About Cookies

In order to provide more effective web site, we use "cookies" as part of our interaction with your browser. A "cookie" is a small text file placed on your hard drive by our web page server. These do not collect any personal identification information, and we do not use the information collected through cookies to determine who you are.
